Animethon restricts the use of AI (artificial intelligence, generative systems, and similar technologies) for the creation of audio or visual representations used in products, services, displays, promotional materials, performances, and contests.

The use of AI tools are acceptable only when they do not substantially create or contribute to the final creative expression.

Examples of permitted uses include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Enhancement (such as upscaling, noise reduction, and cleanup)
• Planning (such as research, references, and brainstorming)
• Editing (such as background removal, colour correction, formatting, translation, and applying filters)

Any use of AI that contributes to audio or visual representations used in products, services, displays, promotional materials, performances, and contests must be declared to the event at the time of submission or application.

This includes, but is not limited to, Vendors, Artists, Panelists, Performers, Contestants, Sponsors, and Partners.

The event shall be the sole authority in determining what constitutes acceptable AI usage.

Additional restrictions may apply to specific events, contest rules, or contracts.
